Trying to avoid Jonas market who had a national celebrity world famous wrestler promoting his product Next Door worried about fighting long lines. My wife and I were able to enter John’s bar and Grill as we sat down to the table and looked at the menus. My wife and I kind of looked at each other thinking why this looks kind of expensive. Would we be returning here but because of fate and other problems around the whole area, we decided let’s try it and see if it’s good if it’s not, we’ll just chuck it up as experience and move on, but I ordered the patty melt and I didn’t want french fries so I asked for a salad with their poppyseed dressing. I’m trying to keep a certain Doctor happy. When our wonderful waitress, Shelby brought the salad and the poppyseed dressing, I looked at the plate and said wow this was a generous portion of salad and adding the poppyseed to it. It was super fresh absolutely delicious and the croutons were just crunch so crunch that this was a great salad and I love salad . My wife had ordered the grilled chicken club sandwich. I cannot believe my ears with my wife praising the sandwich. It was a huge portion of chicken breast and everything added on top of the sandwich, made it absolutely a delight for her to eat, and if you look at the french fries on my picture with my sandwich, she couldn’t eat all of her fries so she gave half of her fries to me and you have to understand that the portion of fries that she gave me would be a regular portion at any other Restaurant. Again, Jonas is very generous with fries and yes, I eat them, but please don’t tell my doctor. The poppyseed was absolutely delicious as a dressing for the salad. The patty melt that I ordered with the grilled onions and burger, and was absolutely delicious I took home half of my sandwich which for me is unusual not to be believe the whole thing and I reheated it tonight before I went to bed and I will tell you this sandwich is so I’ll take a picture. Great place to gather with friends, family, or both! Generous portions fair pricing. Intimate, most welcoming.
Jonna’s is a great add to Howell’s restaurant/bar scene. Away from the downtown, it hosts an impressive bar with local beers on rotation on draft. The menu is relatively small but the food does not disappoint. It’s not a very large building so larger groups would not necessarily be sitting at the same table. The wait time for food is standard, and the prices are great. I definitely recommend it.
Me and my wife come here every Friday for our day date because of the great happy hour prices and awesome Cobb salads. We have got to know many of the staff and always love how the engage and interact with us as regulars. The only downfall is everyone else loves this place too and sometimes we have to wait:) overall our favorite place to eat and drink and spend time away from our busy life of kids and work to relax!!
What a great experience, let's talk about what customer service is! our server Shyanne never missed a beat and this place was busy. The food was perfect and if you enjoy adult beverages might I recommend the Michigan cherry mule. I just want to tell you how friendly the whole staff is. This is a must, you just might want to avoid it on game days as it is packed and seating is scarce. It seats about 40 to 50 people.
Love this place! Best Appetizer: Scotch Eggs or Pierogis Best Entree: Mac and cheese add jalapeños, buffalo chicken tenders and feta! Great atmosphere and solid beer list. Jonna’s rocks!!
Me and my family have been eating here for years now and I haven’t had one bad experience. From service to good food prices I would never eat anywhere else besides here and every time I do go somewhere else I always compare it to this place.
Excellent restaurant!! Stopped here on a Saturday night, got a table immediately and the food/drinks came out amazingly fast. It’s a small spot, but the tables turn over quick with how fast/friendly the service is. Recommend the garbage burger and the cheeseburger in paradise pizza!
Excellent little bar and grill located on the corner of Michigan Ave and M59 in Howell, MI! This is the original location and first of the Jonna's Bar & Grills! Plenty of parking in a large, well lit parking lot! Comfort foods and bar type food is available, plus, fresh salads, soups and pizza! Stop in and experience what Jonna's Bar & Grill has to offer!
I've been here a few times and the food and beverage quality has been consistently good. Excellent pierogies and Mac & Cheese. Wife loved their waffle fries. Service was friendly and attentive. Old Fashioned (this time with Traverse City Cherry Whiskey) was made perfectly.
